Looking back on 2004 and forward in 2005
Last year was a difficult one for the global power sector, with decreased activity on major infrastructure developments and considerable impact on industry-wide engineering, construction and manufacturing revenues. At the same time, Acres underwent the single most significant change in our 80-year history – the merger with Hatch. Even in these challenging times, it was a record year for our recognition, as we received seven major industry honors including the prestigious Schreyer Award with our joint venture partners for the Bruce A nuclear restart. Acres President Tony Hylton now discusses how 2005 is quickly shaping up to be an equally triumphant year for business development.

Feature: Karun III – successful impoundment of massive reservoir
Acres has worked on Iran's Karun River projects since the late 1970s, with geological, hydrological and topographical studies being conducted for the third site during the 1980s. The Karun is the largest river water resource in Iran and this latest hydroelectric development is one of the largest under construction in the world.
