Not only the name has changed I am excited to announce that Acres Incorporated and most of our operating subsidiaries in Canada and the US have adopted the name Hatch Acres. Our wholly-owned subsidiaries Acres Manitoba and SGE Acres will continue to serve their regional markets unchanged while we will continue operating overseas as Acres International Limited. It is important to us that our customers understand they will still be dealing with the same dedicated people they've come to know, and that we look forward to delivering the same high-quality service as always. |
What is different, besides the name, is a much broader scope of integrated engineering capabilities.
The new name strengthens our identity and position in the market by drawing attention to our relationship with Hatch – taking our own worldwide reputation for excellence in energy consulting and adding the extended access to Hatch's vast, specialized resources, project management systems, engineering services and technologies. Hatch is a 50-year-old global company with more than 6,000 employees in 80 offices on six continents. We stand only to gain.
As Hatch Acres, we have more than 900 employees and principal offices in Calgary, Niagara Falls and Oakville.
And we will continue to offer services, technologies and consulting to the following sectors: hydroelectric power generation; energy planning; oil and gas (through Hatch Acres subsidiary Hatch Optima); wind-power generation; thermal and nuclear power generation; power transmission and distribution; water resources planning and management; and other alternative energy systems.
Many new opportunities have come our way since joining The Hatch Group in June 2004, particularly in the oil and gas sector. Now, I am confident that being more clearly recognized as part of Hatch, while retaining the outstanding name recognition of Acres, will strengthen our position in the marketplace and support our plans for future growth.
