Hatch Energy wins study for CO2 sequestration project
Hatch Energy has been retained by UTS Energy to conduct a scoping study for a notional carbon dioxide sequestration project in Alberta, Canada. CO2 sequestration is the capture, extraction, separation, collection and storage or use of CO2. The study will evaluate the feasibility and cost of CO2 sequestration from concentrated sources. Results will help UTS develop a carbon management strategy and assess potential business opportunities, including enhanced oil recovery.
Two awards for dams in Canada
Hatch Energy has received an award of excellence for Brookfield Power's Shikwamkwa Replacement Dam, the largest dam built in Ontario in two decades. In addition, Hatch Energy was a co-winner for the Seymour Falls Dam Seismic Upgrade Project for the Greater Vancouver Water District. Both awards were presented at the 2007 Canadian Consulting Engineering awards gala held in Ottawa on
October 23, 2007.
