IN BRIEF: other news from the world of Hatch Energy

Phase II of Fort Hills energy project
Last year, Hatch Energy was awarded Phase I of the Fort Hills project in the Alberta oil sands, involving front-end engineering design for the ore-preparation plant that will produce 165 kBPCD for the upgrader by 2011. Now, we have also been selected to provide concept screening and selection services as lead contractor for Phase II. The $14-billion Fort Hills project is a strategic investment for owners Petro-Canada Oil Sands Inc., UTS Energy and Teck Cominco. Phase II will double the mine and upgrader capacities, with a planned startup in late 2013 or early 2014.
