IN BRIEF: other news from the world of Hatch Energy
Hatch pitches in after Tsunami
Following the 2004 Boxing Day earthquake and tsunami in the Indian Ocean, during which 250,000 people died, Hatch made a significant financial contribution and engaged Save the Children to construct five Child Resource Centres in Tamil Nadu, India. The Resource Centres were completed in 2007 and will be used by 750 children in the community for education and play. On weekends the facilities will be used by the community for meetings and other organized events. The tsunami was one of the deadliest disasters in history, and The Hatch Group was determined to make a constructive contribution in the hard-hit region. Save the Children is an independent, non-profit charity helping children in need around the world.
