Renewable Energy Hybrid Power in Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Hatch Energy is advising a group of resorts in Jamaica on the possibility of meeting their complete needs for electrical power from renewable resourcesa combination of wind, solar and methane power.
The project, on behalf of the Canadian International Development Agency, is a feasibility study for three popular Sandals Resorts International locations in the Ocho Rios region. The study will establish the technical, commercial and financial viability for a single high-visibility plant that will eliminate dependence on imported fossil fuels.

The plant under consideration will be purpose-designed to exploit the renewable energy resources at the site while satisfying the daily demand of approximately 32,000 kWh. It will demonstrate the potential of a high-tech, standalone, hybrid energy facility, and will become an important transfer point for understanding of design, construction and operation of similar systems.
