Some three decades ago Hatch Energy emerged as a leader in a new science–the application of systems analysis to the solution of complex water resources problems. Today, Hatch Energy provides a wide range of water resources planning and management services, ranging from high level policy assistance and restructuring services, to detailed technical studies employing specialized computer models and highly skilled analysts.

Our work in this area often forms the basis for decisions regarding fundamental policy directions, environmental assessment of water resource projects, and infrastructure investment programs. Typically, water resources management services focus on establishing operating policies for multipurpose water resource systems, and often require the installation of sophisticated computer software to guide operations. In all cases, the analysis of quantifiable benefits such as power and irrigation is carried out in combination with analysis of less easily quantifiable environmental and socioeconomic issues.
