A combined cycle generation project at Forney, Texas, uses six 250-MW heat recovery steam generators in association with GE 7FA combustion turbines. As a sub-contractor to Aalborg Industries, Hatch Energy provided engineering services related to large bore piping. Issues to be resolved were analysis of stress within the piping, positioning and nature of supports, isometrics, and interference checking. 3D CADD design modeling was employed in this fast-track project.
