Foster Creek Phase I Commercial Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage Plant

The Foster Creek Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage project is the first commercial plant of its kind in the world. The EnCana project produces 23,000 barrels of oil per day. Complete EPCM services were provided by Nordic Acres Engineering (now part of Hatch Optima). Intensive modularization was designed into the project, with over 170 modules weighting from 70 to 150 tonnes.

"Another world leader - first in the world project. This project displays outstanding technical excellence, innovative processes and the advancement of technology to a new limit. The modular design methodology greatly reduced risks and costs, while providing excellent worker conditions and quality standards."
