Asset Valuation for City Utility in Peterborough, Ontario

We carried out a fair market assessment of the value of fixed assets owned by several municipal utilities, such as Peterborough Utilities Services. An independent assessment was required as a basis for determining capital costs allowances.

The work required confirmation of the inventory, and field inspection and age profiling to assess the physical condition of assets.Working from initial installed costs and today's replacement costs a calculation was made of the estimated net value of each item.

The assets include generating equipment, transmission and distribution equipment, water heaters, lighting and cables.
