From the very beginning our core business has been associated with the world's most important renewable energy source, hydroelectric power. Harry Acres, our founder, made his reputation as an engineer on Canada's Niagara River; today the firm has carried that expertise to sites large and small in every corner of the world.

Behind us lie major projects which have changed the course of nations: dams higher than 250 m in height; powerhouses rated at more than 10,000 MW; 50,000 MW of power installed or enhanced. Looking around us now we see that the importance of water power has, if anything, increased. A few mega-projects remain to be completed, but the most pressing task is now to coax more power from existing resources.
