Project Concept Optimization for Proposed Dam Redevelopment, BC

On behalf of Columbia Power Corporation, Hatch Energy examined at a conceptual level of detail a range of options for expansion of the 130 MW Brilliant generating station near Castlegar, British Columbia. Options examined included surface and underground powerhouses over a range of 80 to 135 MW installed capacity.

Hatch Energy provided all engineering input and information on construction and operational impacts of the project to a comprehensive Environmental Assessment document prepared under the harmonized Canada & British Columbia EA process. The Hatch Energy team worked closely with specialists in fisheries, biology, economics and regulatory management, and prepared a fully responsive set of environmental submissions to regulatory agencies.
