Blind Slough Hydroelectric Project, FERC Licensing
Hatch Energy has been retained to provide professional services relating to the upcoming relicensing of the licensed project and the Part 12 Dam Safety Inspection. Hatch Energy also assists Petersburg, Alaska, in its communications with the US Congress on matters of concern regarding the hydropower project and in compliance management.
Petersburg has elected to pursue the alternative relicensing approach and Hatch Energy will prepare the Application for New License and the Environmental Assessment under NEPA. The existing license will expire on November 12, 2004. Hatch Energy has a long history of involvement with this project having prepared the Application for New License when the first license expired in the late 1970s. Issues to be addressed in the relicensing include fisheries, minimum flow releases, and continued hatchery operations.
