Hatch Energy provided engineering services related to the upgrading of the 11-MW horizontal Francis turbines at the 75-year old Deer Lake generating station.

Hatch Energy's scope of work included

• performance testing to establish benefits of upgrades
• development of technical specifications
• site engineering services during dismantling and rebuilds
• load rejection testing and relief valve adjustment to maintain pressure rise below penstock limitations
• performance testing to confirm contract guarantees had been achieved.
