The Theun-Hinboun power plant is a run-of-river facility that started commercial operation in 1998. Hatch Energy carried out a stability assessment of the water-retaining structures in accordance with Canadian Dam Association guidelines. The assessment considered two cases: the future stability of the existing structure; and the effect on future stability of replacing all existing rubber gates with a concrete weir.
