A key part of a successful energy management strategy is an effective training program. Site staff needs to understand how energy is currently used, how to waste less energy, and how to use less energy to make the same amount of product. This typically starts with a training needs assessment to ensure that the training is tailored to meet the site’s specific needs.
Standard Training
This training looks at traditional ways to save energy that can be used across many different sectors. Topics usually covered are:
- Why is there a need to manage energy?
- How to perform an energy audit/assessment
- Electricity demand and load management
- Lighting
- Motors and drives
- Compressed air
- Heating, ventilation and air conditioning
- Boilers and steam systems
- Effective use of waste heat.
Specialized Training
Hatch Energy also offers specialized training programs that provide training solutions and can include a train-the-trainer program. Hatch Energy can mould the training program to the special needs of a site. The process begins with a specific training needs assessment, where Hatch Energy undertakes a series of interviews, surveys, and site inspections to evaluate the training goals and needs. Typically these programs consist of:
- Preparation of draft training modules
- Delivery of training
- Conducting of Train-the-trainer sessions
- Provision of training materials.
