Energy Savings Program
Hatch Energy conducted a One-2-Five energy diagnostic to identify critical areas for improvement at the manufacturing facility of Derby Cellular Products in Connecticut, USA. Derby manufactures molded, extruded and fabricated rubber.
The Hatch Energy program identified over $180,000 of annual savings and recommended process changes as well as strategies to increase energy awareness and accountability among Derby’s staff and management. The recommendations that were implemented included; changing the shift cycle, thereby saving $100,000 per year; repairing compressed air leaks, saving $10,000 per year; and switching energy suppliers, resulting in an unexpected saving of $60,000 per year.
Hatch Energy used funding from the United Illuminating Company to carry out the diagnostic. |
