Mighty River Power retained Synexus Global to implement RT Vista, the real-time dispatch module of the Vista Decision Support System to meet the needs of the hydro advisory tool project. Vista will be implemented on six workstations at the Hamilton, New Zealand office of MRP.

MRP owns and operate 1056 MW of hydro generation, consisting of 39 generating units in nine stations on one closely coupled cascade on the Waikato (Mighty) River. The New Zealand electricity market is a 100-percent real-time spot market. The market trades in 30-minute time slots but has more frequent real-time adjustments to balance supply and demand. MRP also participates in the ancillary service markets for spinning reserve and regulation reserve (frequency keeping).
