Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) Policy

At Hatch Energy we recognize the importance of protecting the health and safety of our employees, clients, visitors and contractors, while caring for the environment and supporting our local communities.

Our Goals

  • Working Together Safely so there is "No Harm" to people, the environment and communities associated with projects managed by Hatch Energy.

Our Commitments

Health and Safety:

  • Establish Health and Safety Programs, as appropriate, for each of our projects.
  • Develop our Health and Safety management system to facilitate the development of HSEC programs.
  • Provide a healthy and safe workplace environment to eliminate or minimize injury and illness.
  • Implement "Designing for Safety" principles.

Environment:

  • Design safe, clean, quiet, facilities for our clients that minimize waste, emissions and discharges.
  • Operate our own facilities in a safe, efficient and environmentally sensitive manner
  • Strive to continuously improve our environmental performance based on achievement of established environmental goals.
  • Develop and disseminate environmentally sound technologies.

Community:

  • As individuals and as a company, we support our local communities and professional societies.
  • Respect the sensitivities and cultural heritage of communities within the influence of projects managed by Hatch.

Sustainable Development:

  • Minimize project ecological footprints from project design and construction, through operation, to decommissioning.
  • Use Sustainable Development principles in the design and constrution of our projects.

Implementation:

  • Follow the Project LifeCycle Process (PLP) that has HSEC principles embedded early and throughout the project.
  • Give employees the training, opportunity and encouragement to participate in HSEC matters pertinent to their work.
  • Establish objectives and targets for the implementation of this policy.
  • Sustain continual improvement by reviewing our HSEC performance annually.

Responsibility and Accountability:

  • The responsibility for leading the implementation of this policy resides with the CEO and the senior leaders of the business.
  • Every Hatch Energy Project Manager is responsible for the implementation of this policy on their projects.
  • All employees have a responsibility to work safely using the training, technological resources and safety equipment provided, and to care for the health, safety and well being of others.
